On 5 June 2025, at the call of Greenpeace, around 20 activists gathered at an Edeka supermarket in Hannover (Niedersachsen), where they attached posters to the windows and hung a banner from the roof, to protest against animal cruelty linked to Edeka's supply chain, demanding that the company reshape its product range to better address animal welfare and climate concerns. Activists, at the demand of the police, left the premises voluntarily after removing the banners.
